For 13 years, the ARCH MOSCOW Exhibition has been the main podium for the presentation of leading Russian and foreign architects. When it was founded, ARCH MOSCOW served as a space for young and independent architects, offering an alternative to the projects that were promoted by official organizations such as the Russian Union of Architects or the Committee on Architecture and town-planning of the City of Moscow. Now these architects, however talented, can hardly be called beginners: they have become the architectural establishment. Their works are promoted by virtually everyone: by journals on architecture and design, in Russian exhibitions and abroad. Therefore, ARCH Moscow decided to start a new programme: under the title of ARCH MOSCOW NEXT!, every two years the exhibition will focus on a new generation of architects. This not only means that young, prospective architects will be invited to show their works in a non-commercial exposition, it also aims to open discussion on education in architecture and design. Thus without forgetting its older stars, every other year ARCH MOSCOW will reclaim its position as a place for new talent.
